Srinagar, Sept 25: Twelve people died today in Kashmir due to COVID-19 taking the Jammu and Kashmir death toll to 1111 while Valley recorded 576 fresh cases of Coronavirus taking tally of positive cases to 69,832 in J&K.
Among the deaths in Kashmir valley, six were from Srinagar, three Pulwama and one each from Kupwara, Ganderbal and Shopian.
The victims from Valley include 75-year-old woman from Kadikadal Srinagar, a 75-year-old from Chundina Ganderbal, 66-year-old from Narpora Shopian, an 80-year-old man from Konibal Pampore, an 80-year-old man from Noorpora, a 30-year-old of Uthmulla Pulwama, , a 67-year-old man from Hundi Kupwara, a 70-year-old man from Lasjan, an 80-year-old from Al Farooq Colony Bemina, a 66-year-old from Rawalpora Srinagar, a 75-yearold from Botakadal Srinagar and a 60-year-old woman from Hamdaniya Colony Bemina.
With these deaths, the number of people who have succumbed to the virus has gone up to 1111 in Jammu and Kashmir.
And Kashmir recorded 576 fresh cases of coronavirus taking tally of positive cases to 69,832 in J&K.
Those who tested positive include 224 from Srinagar, 61 Budgam, 64 Baramulla, 51 Pulwama, 36 Anantnag, 26 Bandipora, 31 Kupwara, 53 Ganderbal, 5 Kulgam and 25 from Shopian in Kashmir.
As official said that 14,025 positive cases including 277 deaths and 11,561 recoveries are from Srinagar, 4,656 including 80 deaths and 3,239 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,169 including 2,831 recoveries and 121 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,759 including 3,201 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,416 including 62 deaths and 2,936 recoveries are from Anantnag, 3,300 including 2,532 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,377 cases including 2,474 and 65 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,793 including 2,145 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,229 including 2,056 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 1,995 including 1,782 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Shopian.
He said that of the total 69,832 cases, 43,718 are from Kashmir and 26,114 from Jammu division. The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached 43,718 including 34,757 recoveries and 811 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached 26,114 including 14,800 recoveries and 294 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 19,170 including 8,150 from Kashmir division and 11,020 from Jammu division.
With 1,478 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 49,557 which is 70.96 percent of the total cases and was over 78 percent over three weeks back.
Out of 1,513,224 samples processed in J&K, 1,443,392 tested negative while 69,832 have tested positive. They are 19,170 are active, 49,557 persons have recovered and 1,105 persons have died.
