12 families shifted to safer locations

RAMBAN, Apr 25: The District Administration in Ramban has shifted 12 families to safer locations after a huge chunk of land sunk at Kakrala Morh, Parnote area of the town.
Precautionary, the vehicular movement on the Ramban-Gool road was also suspended as the road passed through Kakrala Morh locality, some 5 kilometers from the district headquarters.

Official sources said that following land subsidence, electricity supply to several areas also got affected.
They said the land started sinking this evening, creating a panic among the locals.
On getting information, sources said, a team of Tehsildar Ramban Deep Kumar accompanied by officers from District Administration along with police, SDRF, and volunteers of QRT rushed to the spot to restore the road connectivity and shift the families in panic to the safer locations.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary shared the information on X, formerly Twitter.
“Massive subsidence/ sinking at Km 5, on Ramban-Gool road. Road blocked, all vehicles halted. Restoration work underway for road connectivity and power supply affected by road sinking. Ramban-Gool road is currently blocked,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, officers from the District Administration along with medical teams, police, SDRF, and volunteers of civil QRT are stationed in the area.
