JAMMU, Nov 19: Twelve persons were injured today when an over-speeding mini-bus turned turtle on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Kunjwani.
According to a police official, the mishap occurred today at about 9.45 AM when the driver of the mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BP-5734, which was on its way from Bari-Brahmana to Satwari, lost control over the vehicle near Choudhary Palace. The official said that 12 passengers travelling in the ill-fated vehicle got injured in the mishap and they were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
The injured passengers were identified as Neterpal Sharma (50) son of Madav Parsad Sharma of Kothey Kachiyaan (Bishnah), Kewal Singh (50) son of Chajju Singh of village Manghal (Bishnah) and his wife Manjeet Kour (40), Kulwant Kour (42) wife of Ghar Singh of Manghal (Bishnah), Vishal (9) son of Rajeev Kumar of UP (at present Bari Brahamana), Arjun (20) son of Mohinder Singh of bari Brahmana, Sunita Devi (40) wife of Hans Raj of Sarore, Suriender (22) son of Subash Chander of Hiranagar, Rekha Devi (44) wife of Raj Singh of Sarore, Ashwani Kumar (50) son of Sohan Lal of Bari Brahamana, Shivani Sharma (24) daughter of Vijay Kumar of Kheri (Bishnah) and Sunita Devi (43) wife of Parshotam Lal of Rehal (Bishnah).
The condition of all the injured was stable except Neterpal Sharma, whose condition was stated to be critical. In the connection, Gangyal police had registered a case and started investigations while efforts were also on to nab the absconding driver and conductor of the mini-bus.
