12 structures gutted

JAMMU, Aug 31: Twelve structures, including six shops, were gutted in a fire at a market place in Doda district.
As per police sources, the fire broke out at the Gandoh market during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Six shops were among the 12 structures gutted in the fire.
Meanwhile, Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Sagar D Doifode visited Gandoh (Bhalessa) and presented relief to the fire incident victims
The DC Doda along with SDM Gandoh and Tehsildar Gandoh met the fire victims and assured all the necessary assistance from district administration.
The DC released Rs 25000 each for the shops fully damaged and Rs 10000 each to those partially damaged.
Earlier, the people apprised DC Doda about various demands and problems being faced by them.
They demanded supply of LPG cylinders to meet the shortage, adequate drinking water supply schemes, improvement of electric supply which includes replacement of electric poles and electric wire, solar lights, posting of JE PDD, schools and health centres, fire extinguisher cylinders for Fire & Emergency Department.
The DC assured the public for additional police patrolling at night to avert any such incident in future.
