12 vehicles seized for illegal mining

POONCH, Oct 5: In a resolute effort to curb illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals, a joint team comprising the local police and the Mining Department conducted a major crackdown across various parts of the district.
As a result of this operation, 12 vehicles, including two excavators, three dumpers, one tipper, and six tractors, were seized from different locations. Additionally, two illegal mining ramps were dismantled in Bufliaz area of Surankote.
The seized vehicles, comprising excavators, dumpers, tippers, and tractors, were found to be operating without the necessary permits and licenses. These vehicles were instrumental in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minor minerals, causing significant environmental degradation and posing a threat to public safety.
The team identified and dismantled two ramps that were being used for illegal mining activities in Bufliaz.
