REASI, May 10: A 12-year old girl was allegedly raped by two youth of her village in Tanda, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Dera Baba, here last night.
Acting swiftly, Police arrested one of the accused today while a hunt has been launched to nab the other one also.
The accused were identified as Mohd Sarber (23), son of Mohd Shafi of Tanda and Sanjay Kumar alias Shotu (27), son of Krishan Chand of Tanda.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 98/2018 under section 376-d/363 RPC has been lodged at Police Station Reasi and investigation was taken up.
Reports said that the minor girl was allegedly taken to an isolated place and then raped by the accused, last evening.
After the matter came into light, family members of the victim girl lodged a complaint with the Police Station Reasi. Police team, led SHO Reasi, Inspector Ashwani Sharma under the supervision of Dy SP Nikhil Gogna and overall supervision of SSP Tahir Sajad Bhat, acted swiftly and arrested one of the accused from a hideout while a major hunt has been launched to nab the other also.
The victim was taken to District Hospital Reasi for medical examination for which a medical Board of Doctors was constituted.
