The young author’s inspiration stemmed from reading poems in his school books, igniting a desire to contribute his writing. Expressing gratitude for the support received, Bhat mentioned, “My family played a crucial role, especially my father, who suggested the book’s title. Initially named ‘The Untold Story of Kashmir,’ I later changed it to ‘History of Kashmir’ to better reflect its content.”
Sehran emphasised the cognitive benefits of writing. “It enhances overall brain development, given the constant exposure to books and the necessity to read extensively. However, I am not discouraging playing, and it is important too,” he said.
Detailing his writing process, Sehran dedicated the first chapter of his book to the transformation of the Valley into a Union Territory and the second chapter to the history of its inception, seeking guidance from teachers along the way. The ten-chapter book delves into Kashmir’s history, spanning Sikh rule, Muslim rule, and post-1947 events. Published by Nitya Publication,” Bhat revealed. “I connected with them through social media, and my father played a crucial role in facilitating the publication process.”
Motivated by curiosity about the differences between current times and the past, Bhat expressed his plans. “I will continue writing, exploring poetry and other subjects. However, I have decided not to delve further into history,” he said.
