JAMMU, Mar 19: Police today seized 121 bags of FCI ration from a TATA Mobile, which was being smuggled from a ration depot of Patta Bohri to Jandiyal Traders, Channi Himmat. Two accused have been arrested while another was absconding.
Reports said a Nowabad police station team headed by SHO Jaipal Sharma intercepted a TATA Mobile No. 8897 JK02AW at Jewel Naka and seized 121 bags of FCI ration from it. The vehicle was also seized.
The ration had been smuggled from the depot of Dev Raj Gupta son of Charan Dass Gupta R/o Patta Bohri and was being taken to Jandyal Traders, Channi Himmat, owned by Rajinder Jandyal son of Vishwanath R/o RS Pura, presently putting up at Channi Himmat.
Police have arrested Rajinder Jandyal and TATA Mobile driver Sanjeev Kumar son of Mohan Lal R/o Patoli and was searching Dev Raj Gupta.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 420 and 409 RPC.
