JAMMU, Dec 23: The 126th birth anniversary of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, the 1st Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Justice of India was celebrated with enthusiasm.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha under the chairmanship of its President Vinod Kumar Gupta celebrated the 126th birth anniversary of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan at Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan Park, Gandhi Nagar with great fervour and enthusiasm.
A large number of people including intellectuals, professionals, social activists attended the function. Among other prominent Mahajan dignitaries Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East, IC Jandial, Jugal Mahajan, Rattan Lal Gupta, Ex MLC, Prem Gupta, Retd IGP, Rajinder Gupta, SSP Railway, Varender Gupta, Retd Secretary, KB Jandial, Amar Chand Gupta and Dr Madan Gopal were also present.
The function started with pooja, followed by Havan. All the dignitaries present on the occasion garlanded the statue of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan.
Vinod Gupta, President of Sabha highlighted the contribution of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan towards nation and J&K State in particular and appealed the people to follow the path shown by justice Mehar Chand Mahajan.
Among others present were Rattan Hindu, Ram Charan Gupta, Ved Parkash, Pawan Gupta, Sunita Gupta, Darshan Gupta, SP Langer, Krishan Lal Gupta, Chander Sheikher Gupta, Natha Ram, Om Parkash Gupta, SK Gupta, Krishan Gupta, Apali Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Satish Gupta and Vijay Gupta etc.
Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) and Shri Ram Sena (SRS) Jammu and Kashmir celebrated 126th Birth Anniversary of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan at Dogra Shouraya Sthal Amphalla, here under the presidentship of Ved Gandotra, President of the Association and Rajiv Mahajan, State President, SRS.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who paid homage to this great leader.
All the dignitaries garlanded the portrait of Justice Mehar Chand.
Among others present were Pritam Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Prabhat Kapahi, RR Raina, Raj Kumar Tyagi and Brig Mehra.
