13 bovines rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, Sept 9: Police today rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Pacca Danga Police Station led by SHO Vijay Choudhary laid a naka at Manda and intercepted a Srinagar bound Tata mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02AG-2242.
During search, police rescued two bovine animals and arrested two smugglers namely Shakeel Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi and Manzor Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani, both residents of Maitra, Ramban, he added.
A case under FIR number 160/13 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police party from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Parvez Sajjad under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary laid a naka at Bantalab Nagrota and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AG-6587, he added.
During search, eleven bovine were rescued and two smugglers were arrested, who have been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Mohammad Hussain of Khanpur, Nagrota and Hasham Din, son of Noor Jujli of Babliana, spokesman informed.
A case under FIR number 283/13 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
