13 bovines rescued, 4 held

JAMMU, Apr 5: Police today arrested four bovine smugglers and rescued 13 milch animals from their possession, which they were smuggling to Kashmir valley.
“On specific inputs, police party from Nagrota police station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK03B-9345”, officiating SSP Rajeshwar Singh said.
During checking, police recovered 13 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers subsequently, he added.
The smugglers were identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Fayaz Mohd, Abdul Aziz, son of Ghulam Ahmed and Adil Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid, all residents of Lasserpura, tehsil and district Kulgam and Ashiq Hussain, son of Abdul Gani Bhat of Hussanpura, he said.
A case under FIR number 91/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police party led by SHO OP Chib made the arrest under the direct supervision of SDPO Khalik Chowdhary.
