RAMBAN, Feb 27: Police today rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested a driver.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Batote laid a special naka at Baggu Nala and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02X-0532.
During checking, police rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Manmohan Singh, son of Sardar Singh of Musa Chack, tehsil RS Pura, Jammu.
The accused was trying to smuggle the bovine animals to Valley, but his designs were thwarted by the police.
A case under FIR Number 14/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
The arrest has been made by SHO Police Station Batote Inspector Sameer Jeelani under the close supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
