13 bovines rescued, one held

JAMMU, Oct 2: Police rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler from Bantalab area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nagrota Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Bantalab and intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AW-9530 and JK02BG-7850.
During checking, police rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested a driver, while his associates managed to escape. The arrested driver has been identified as Mohammad Farooq, son of Sain Bakerwal of Mansar, district Udhampur.
A case under FIR number 270/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Police Station Parvez Sajjad made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khalik Choudhary.
