13 bovines rescued, smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Oct 5: Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur and rescued 13 bovines besides arresting the accused.
These bovines were being transported to Kashmir valley in a Tanker, bearing registration number JK01AC- 0948, which was stopped by a Police party, headed by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Raghubir Singh, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Udhampur Gurmeet Singh, during routine naka checking at Jakhani Check Point.
During checking, 13 bovines were found loaded in the Tanker, without any valid permission. Thereafter, Police rescued all the bovines and arrested driver of the Tanker, identified as Asif, son of Mohd Yaqoob of Hoshiarpur, UP.
In this connection, case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Udhampur for further investigation.
