13 hurt as truck hits mini-bus

JAMMU, Jan 22: Thirteen persons were injured today when a mini-bus was hit by a speeding truck under the jurisdiction of police station Nagrota.
“The mishap occurred today at about 8:30 AM on Panjirthi-Nagrota Bypass Road when the mini-bus (bearing registration number JK02U-2598) carrying passengers (mostly students) to Jammu, was hit by a speeding truck bearing registration number JK14B-0183,” a police official said.
He said in the mishap, 13 passengers received minor injuries. All of them were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment while Nagrota police had taken cognizance of the matter.
The official said the injured passengers were identified as Kajal (18), Sonia (27), Jyoti (20), Kanam (23), Chhano (45), Sharda (34), Mohd Yousuf (35) Bimla Devi (32), Neeru (32), Pamposh (32), Seema (31), Deepika (22) and Sharda begum (42), all residents of Nagrota.
