13 stone pelters released

SRINAGAR, May 5: Police today claimed to have released 13 youths who were detained for pelting stones in Pulwama town during April 30 elections.
A police spokesman said a considerate view of the offenders of stone pelting was taken after police held counseling sessions for them on Sunday.
Police in Pulwama had on Sunday said that it will take a lenient view with regard to first time offenders.
“The released persons were not booked in any case to give them an opportunity to introspect and desist to become tools of the anti social elements,” the spokesman said.
