UDHAMPUR, July 27: A 13-year old girl died after she consumed poisonous pesticide mistaking it as medicine for stomach pain.
The deceased was identified as Kajal Devi, daughter of Subhash Chander of Sudhmahadev.
According to the family members, the girl experienced some stomach pain late last night and in order to get relief, she consumed some medicine which turned out to be pesticide that was kept along with other drugs in the house.
The family members rushed her to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors referred her to SMGS Jammu Hospital Jammu in view of her critical condition. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, the girl did not respond to the treatment and she died.
Chenani Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
