JAMMU, Aug 8: Electric M&RE Division-III today provided free electricity connections to 132 un-electrified households of Village Pingiari in Tehsil Akhnoor.
The connections were provided during a camp organized by the department under Soubhagya scheme. Recently a survey was conducted by the department in the village for indentifying un-electrified households and it was found that many of the households have no access to the electricity.
The department accordingly created the requisite infrastructure during this month in the said village so as to ensure that every household gets electricity. During the camp, as many as 132 electricity connections were released free of cost as per the guidelines of the scheme along with energy meters to all these households where electrification works were recently concluded.
Executive Engineer, Sanjay Sharma, Assistant Engineer, Sub-Division Akhnoor, Charanjit Singh, Junior Engineers, Kanchan Bharti, Nisha Pandita, and other concerned field staff and representatives from Rodic Consultants were present during the camp.
While interacting with media on the occasion, Executive Engineer, EMRE-III, Jammu who is also the Nodal Officer for 24×7 Power for All, J&K State, informed that such electrification works in the State are being carried out in mission mode.
