UDHAMPUR, Mar 14: Udhampur Police today seized 134 kg of poppy straw from a truck, which was intercepted at Jakhani, National Highway. However, driver of the truck managed to flee taking advantage of heavy traffic on the road.
According to SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, laid a naka at Jakhani National Highway and intercepted the truck bearing registration number PB13AR-5475. Sensing trouble, driver of the truck fled away leaving the vehicle on road. During checking, 134 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the truck.
In this connection, a case FIR number 125/2020, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
