UDHAMPUR, Sept 6: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 14 bovines besides arresting both the smugglers.
Based on reliable information, police party led by SHO Udhampur Vijay Choudhary, under the supervision of Kulbir Handa, Dy SP Hqrs Udhampur, laid naka at Sangoor Chowk, NHW, Udhampur. During checking, police party intercepted one Truck bearing registration number JK02AL- 6095, which was found loaded with 14 bovine animals. Police rescued the bovines and arrested the truck driver as well as his associate, who were identified as Harbans Singh, son of Namma Singh of Chack Mohd Yaar, R S Pura, Jammu and Mohd Latif son of Hazi Babu, of Mirran Sahab, Tehsil R S Pura, Jammu.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR number 453/18, under section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act at PS Udhampur.
