MENDHAR, Apr 28: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued 14 animals and seized three vehicles besides arresting three smugglers.
Acting on specific information, a Police party from Police Post Ari, led by SHO Mendhar Mohd Amin, intercepted three Tata Mobile vehicles, bearing registration number JK12A-9365, JK12-1129 and JK05-7738, which were on way from Mendhar to Surankot.
Fourteen bovine animals were found packed inside these vehicles. Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicles besides arresting their driver, who were identified as Mohd Ikhlaq, Mohd Khushal and Naseer Ahmad, resident of Bhera and Bhatidar.
A case under relevant section has been registered in this connection at Police Station Mendhar.
