UDHAMPUR, May 27: Udhampur Police today rescued 14 bovine animals in the Roun Domail area and arrested one smuggler.
According to the reports, a Police party of PP Roun Domail intercepted a Truck bearing number JK21A-9686, which was on way towards Kashmir. During search, 14 bovines were found loaded in the truck without any valid permission for their transportation.
Police rescued all the animals and arrested driver of the truck, who was identified as Arshad Ahmed Khatana, son of Mohd Shafi Khatana of Kharpura Larno, Kukernag Anantnag. In this regard, case under relevant sections of law was registered.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar.
