UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Tikri and rescued 14 bovines besides arresting the accused smuggler.
Police party of PP Tikri, intercepted one Canter truck bearing registration number JK02CD- 8841, which was coming from Jammu side towards Udhampur. Upon checking, the Canter was found loaded with 14 bovine animals, which were tied in a very harsh and cruel manner and were illegally being taken towards Srinagar without DM permission.
Police rescued the bovine animals and seized the vehicle besides arresting its driver. A case has been registered in this connection.
