UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: In separate case, Udhampur Police rescued 14 bovines and seized three vehicles, which were being used for the smuggling, besides arresting three smugglers.
Four bovines were rescued from a Mahindra Bolero vehicle, bearing registration number JK02BB-3061, which was seized from Jakhani Nakapoint while eight bovines were rescued by the team of Police Station Rehambal.
Two vehicles bearing registration number JK21H-1983 and JK14H-6958, which were being used for smuggling the bovines, were seized. Drivers of these vehicles, identified as Umar Hussain Doie, son of Riaz Hussain of Anantnag and Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Noor Elahi of Maitra, Ramban were arrested.
Earlier, Police team of Police Post Damnote in Panchari, apprehended one bovine smuggler namely Balvinder Kumar, son of Ganpati of Bhomagh, Reasi who was taking two bovines on foot towards Kashmir Valley without any valid permission. Accused has been arrested.
