SAMBA, Feb 20: Bari-Brahmana police rescued 14 bovine animals, while the smugglers managed to escape.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Bari-Brahmana police station led by SHO Dr Showkat A Bhat under the supervision of SP Samba Anil Magotra and DySP Bari-Brahmana Shazaad Salaria laid a naka at Balole Bridge, Bari-Brahmana and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB06Q-2383.
During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals, while the smugglers managed to flee from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle.
A case under FIR number 21/14 under Section 188 RPC and 2/3 PC Act has been registered at Bari-Brahmana police station and manhunt launched to arrest the smugglers.
