POONCH, May 24: The Police rescued 14 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers while foiling cattle smuggling bids in Surankote area.
On the direction of SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra under the close supervision of ASP Poonch Musheem Ahmed, the teams headed by DySP Surankote Tanveer Jelani, SHO Surankote Insp Niaz Ahmed, I/C Police Post Behramgalla SI Sushant Singh, SI Rohit Manmar established naka at Behramgalla and Panar.
During naka checking the teams apprehended two bovine smugglers and seized 02 vehicles Tata Mobile bearing Reg. NOs. JK12A- 6761 & JK12- 4679 which were on way towards Kashmir.
Two FIRs 125 & 129 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Surankote and further investigation started.
