14 fresh PoK guests among 45 cross sides on LoC

SRINAGAR :  Fourteen fresh guests from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while 19 residents of Kashmir valley crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LOC)  to meet their relatives separated in 1947 due to partition, official sources said here today.
As many as 12 returnees also crossed over sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector in north Kashmir, they said.
They said 14 PoK residents arrived at Kaman post after crossing over the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot. A Kashmiri, who had gone to PoK, also returned here after completing stay with his relatives.
Sources said 19 Kashmiris crossed over to other side to meet their relatives in PoK. Eleven PoK residents who had come here in previous buses also returned to their homes.
The Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK, has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other since the service was started on April 7,2005 after India and Pakistan agreed to allow travel of citizens of both sides of the LoC on ‘Travel Permit’ instead of International passport.
However, travel of any person would be allowed only after approval from the intelligence agencies of both the  countries.
