14 gram charas recovered

POONCH, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested one drug peddler and recovered 14 grams charas from his possesion at Mandi in Poonch.
Official sources said that today a police party of Police Station Mandi led by HC Shakeel Ahmed established a naka at TCP Mandi and during checking one driver of Bolero bearing Registration No. JK12B 6891 escaped from naka suspiciously without checking, but the alert police party at naka managed to chase him.
On questioning, the driver disclosed his name as Firdous Ahmed, son of Gulam Rasool, resident of Barachar, in Tehsil Mandi.
Police said during his search 14 grams Charas was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a case vide FIR Number 145/2022 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Mandi and person has been arrested, while vehicle was seized. Further investigation was taken up to unearth it’s backward and forward linkages.
The arrest and recovery was made in front of EMIC Mandi by Inspr Mukhtiar Ali SHO Mandi under the close supervision of DySP Hqrs Poonch Nawaz Ahmed.
