JAMMU, Mar 6: Fourteen persons were injured today in separate road accidents in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a pedestrian identified as Arvinder Paul (32) son of Lal Chand, resident of Tallab Tillo, was hit and injured by a speeding car at Raipur Chungi.
A man namely Ravinder Singh (45) son of Gurbaksh Singh, resident of Nanak Nagar, was injured when the scooter on which he was going on, was hit by a mini-bus at Gandhi Nagar.
Similarly, a man riding on a scooter was hit and injured by a mini-bus at Maheshpura. The injured was identified as Anil Kumar (40) son of CS Gupta, resident of Bakshinagar.
A pedestrian namely HN Bhat (67), son of Jia Lal Bhat, resident of Chinore, sustained injuries after he was hit by a speeding bike near AG office. A pedestrian was also hit and injured by a bus bearing registration number JK02AP-9977 at Fawara Chowk in Akhnoor. The injured was identified as Babu Ram son of Faiju Ram, resident of Akhnoor.
A scooty rashly driven by a teenager namely Sanju (14) son of Yograj, resident of Gole Puli (Tallab Tillo) hit a pedestrian namely Sudakar (8) son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Bihar, at Gole Puli. Both Sanju and Sudakar received injuries in the mishap.
Two pillion riders identified as Arti (16) daughter of Rajesh, resident of Rambagh and a woman namely Rittu (25) wife of Naresh Kumar, resident of Miran Sahib, were injured when two speeding bikes collided at Mishriwala.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
In another incident, a rashly driven bus bearing registration number JK02K-0697, which was on its way from Rajouri to Akhnoor, today morning hit a bike number JK02BC-8159 coming from opposite side near Bangti EME Army gate in Akhnoor area, resulting into serious injuries to bike rider Vinod Kumar son of Dharam Chand, resident of Garkhal and pillion rider, Sunita Devi wife of Vinod Kumar. The injured were shifted to SDH Akhnoor for treatment. Akhnoor police had registered a case in this connection.
A motorcyclist and his two pillion riders also sustained injuries when a speeding bus bearing registration number JK02D-6287, which was on its way from Akhnoor to Jourian, hit their bike number JK02BF-1967 at Nai Basti (Nud) in Akhnoor area. The injured identified as Jagdish Raj of Dhok Jagir, his wife, Neelam Kumari and their daughter, Muskaan, were shifted to SDH Akhnoor. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
