JAMMU, Sept 11: Police arrested 14 more drug peddlers along with heroin and ganja
As per police sources, on information revealed by the arrested drug peddlers in a case registered under FIR Number 353/19 under section 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act, 279 RPC with Police Station Nagrota, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma arrested 10 more drug peddlers along with heroin.
The police team raided several areas including Purkhoo, Gangyal, Gandhi Nagar, Nowabad, etc and arrested these drug peddlers. Four vehicles including 2 Innova cars were also seized.
Two more FIRs under NDPS Act have been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Earlier, on specific information on September 8 this year, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma and assisted by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Showkat and Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Zaheer Manhas conducted series of raids at various places across Jammu and apprehended 7 peddlers.
A total of 110 grams heroin along with cash of Rs 2,27,000 were recovered from the possession of arrested persons. Additionally, 4 vehicles including Range Rover, Creta, Wagon R and Ambulance were also seized.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain the names of their associates.
Meanwhile, during checking near Digiana Ashram, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Gurnam Singh intercepted three persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 12 grams heroin from the possession of these persons and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Harsheed Singh, son of Harbans Singh of Simbal Camp, Jaipreet Singh alias Honey, son of Joginder Singh of Preet Nagar, Digiana and Ashwani Kumar alias Patti, son of Kamal Kumar of Nanak Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 246/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
However, a team from Akhnoor Police Station apprehended a drug peddler along with 449 grams of ganja from Jia Pota area.
The accused has been Amit Kushwah, son of Bhagan Kushwah, of Uttar Pradesh, at present Rama Colony, Akhnoor.
A case under FIR Number 209/19 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation initiated.
