14 violators booked, 14 FIRs registered: SSP Jammu

JAMMU, May 25: Fourteen persons were booked for violating the SOPs issued by the District Magistrate Jammu in wake of spike in COVID-19 pandemic cases.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Chandan Kohli, 14 persons were booked for SOPs violation. Fourteen FIRs were registered at different police stations of Jammu district against the violators, 10 shops were sealed and 3 vehicles seized.
He stated that they are getting good response from the people in breaking the chain of COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that the policemen standing on the ground are facilitating the movement of the health workers, people in need of health services and other essential purposes.
As COVID positive cases continue to rise, all members of the public are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, visit only local and nearby shops for essentials and medicines, use masks and sanitizers and avoid crowds.
SSP also sought the cooperation of the general public with the health workers and police so as to have an effective and efficient response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
