JAMMU, Oct 12: One hundred forty five more cases of dengue were reported today from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, taking the total number of cases so far this year to 3152.
A Health official said that 78 cases were reported today from Jammu district alone while 33 cases were reported from Udhampur, 15 from Kathua, 7 from Samba, 5 from Rajouri, 3 from Poonch, 1 each from Reasi, Doda and Kishtwar districts and one case from outside the UT. The positive patients include 126 adults and 19 children, he added.
He said maximum 2168 cases reported so far are from Jammu district followed by Udhampur district with 322 cases, Kathua with 238 cases and Samba with 212 cases each. “There were 64 cases in Rajouri, 29 in Ramban, 27 in Reasi, 21 each in Poonch and Doda, 4 in Kishtwar, 15 in Kashmir and 27 from other parts of the country,” the official said.
The official further informed that a total of 1047 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospitals till date and of these, 928 have been discharged and 89 patients are still under treatment.
“The dengue cases are rising with each day,” the official said, and advised that citizens should ensure no stagnation of water in and around their houses as mosquitoes responsible for dengue breed in stagnant water.
