NOWSHERA, Nov 16: The Forest Department has retrieved 147 kanal of forest land from the encroachers in Treru Block of Lamberi Range under Nowshera Forest Division besides dismantling two structures on the spot.
Official sources said that a team comprising Range Officer, Lamberi and Assistant Director, Forest Protection Force today launched an operation which was coordinated at circle level by the Conservator of Forests, West Circle, Rajouri. DFO Nowshera directed fencing of retrieved area immediately to prevent from any further encroachment.
Pertinently, the action has been taken in response to a complaint lodged by one Dil Mohd of village Harichuma in tehsil Teryath before the J&K Accountability Commission.
The forest land was under encroachment of Shera, son of Azeem; Abdul Gafoor, son of Imam Din; Balwant Raj, son of Sarnu; Mania, son of Shibbu; Mohd Bashir, son of Imam; Dil Mohd, son of Sain and Lal Hussian, son of Faqar Din since long. The entire area was cleared and two structures were also dismantled.
