15 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

POONCH, Sept 29: Police foiled a major attempt of bovine smuggling at Surankote and rescued 15 animals besides arresting two accused persons.
Reports said that acting on specific information, Incharge PP Behramgala Rafiq Choudhary, under the supervision of SHO Surankote Jatinder Singh Sambyal, laid special nakas along Mughal road at Behramgalla and some other locations in Bufliaz areas of Surankote Sub-division.
During checking at Behramgalla, a Tata Mobile, bearing Registration number JK11B- 4629, driven By Shabir Ahmed son of Ghulam Ahmed of Rajdhani, Tehsil Thanamandi and Tata Mobile Mobile bearing Registration No JK12 6573, driven by Mohd Nissar son of Mohd Shafi of Chajhla Mankote were intercepted.
The drivers alongwith vehicle tried to escape but the vigilant cops chased and seized the said vehicles that were carrying 15 bovine animals. Police rescued the animals and arrested the drivers of both the vehicles.
In this regard FIR number 340, 341/2021 under Section 188 IPC 11PCA Act has been Registered at Police Station Surankote and further investigation has been started in the case.
