UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: Police today rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers in two different cases under Police Station Udhampur and Chenani.
Based on reliably information, a Police party under the command of SHO Udhampur Inspector Deepak Jasrotia, laid a surprise naka near Jakheni in the wee hours and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AA-7540. Four bovine animals were rescued from the truck and its driver Zakir Hussian of Manor Gopal Bowli Samba was arrested on the spot. Police also seized the truck and registered a case.
Similarly, a Police party under the command of SHO Chenani Inspector Kewal Kishore Gupta laid a surprise naka near Chenani top on the National Highway in the wee hours and intercepted a vehicles bearing registration number JK02AJ-6304. Police rescued 11 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers namely Abdul Majid of Narwal Bypass Jammu and Nazir Ahmed of Mahgam in Kukarnag.
The vehicles was also seized and a case under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Chenani.
