UDHAMPUR, Apr 27: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Baryalta under the jurisdiction of Majalta Police Station and rescued 15 bovines besides arresting the alleged smuggler.
Police team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Sohan Singh, stopped a group of 15 bovines which were being taken on foot towards Kashmir valley without any valid permission.
All the bovines were rescued and two accused persons, namely Noorani, son of Abdul Aziz of Hiranagar, Kathua and Sarfaraz son of Maqsood of Hiranagar, Kathua were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation of the case is going on.
