KATHUA, Dec 21: The police seized 15 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers in Rajbagh area of Kathua today.
A police spokesman said that a police party intercepted a truck No. JK02U/8488 on National Highway early today. The driver broken the barrier and sped away. The vehicle was chased by police and then intercepted at some distance. The driver Rehmat Ali of Rangoora Jammu, managed to escape. Eleven animals loaded in the truck were seized.
Four more bovine animals were seized during naka after a load carrier/ mini-truck ( JK-21/7289) was intercepted by police on old Samba- Kathua road today. Two occupants, namely Kuldip Raj and driver Som Nath of Ramgarh were arrested. A case has been registered in this connection.
