15 fresh guests from PoK arrives, 3 Kashmiris cross to other side

SRINAGAR : Fifteen residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while only three Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.    As many as seven returnees also cross sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, official sources said here today.    They said 15 PoK residents arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot this afternoon. Five Kashmiris, who had gone to other side of the LoC also returned to their homes after completing stay in  POK.

Sources said three Kashmiri residents crossed over to other side of the LoC.

Two PoK residents, also returned to their homes after completing stay here.

The bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of POK, has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 to meet each other after India and Pakistan allowed Karvan-e-Aman bus on April 7,2005. (AGENCIES)
