15 injured as mini-bus hits stationary tanker

JAMMU, Dec 19: About 15 persons were injured this morning when a mini-bus, which was on its way from RS Pura to Jammu hit a tanker parked along the roadside near Simbal Morh in Miran Sahib area on city outskirts.
The sources said that the accident happened due to the negligence of the driver of the mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BD-4485, as he failed to apply the brakes to the speedly driven vehicle and lost control, following which it collided with the tanker.
In the mishap, 15 people were injured. Out of the 15 injured people, 10 seriously injured people were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for treatment while other injured were discharged after providing first aid in the nearest Government dispensary.
Those shifted in GMCH are Nisha Devi, Kuldeep Raj, Ravi Kumar, Sukhinder Kumar, Sabita Sharma, Dheeraj Kumar, Santosh Devi, Krishan Dutt, Neha and Pooja. The condition of all of them were stated to be stable.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Miran Sahib and further investigations are underway.
