15 more dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Aug 27: With 15 more cases of dengue reported today, the total number of cases reported so far from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 228.
A health official said, “Over 100 cases have been registered in a week but the percentage of patients admitted to the hospitals is very less, which indicates that people are recovering at their respective places.”
The official stated that on Sunday, a total of 107 people were screened in Jammu out of which 15 were confirmed cases. He said 13 cases were reported from Jammu district and one each from Kathua and Kishtwar. The maximum 163 cases reported so far are from Jammu district followed by Kathua district with 26 cases and Samba 14.
“There were six cases in Reasi, four in Udhampur, three each in Poonch and Doda, one each in Kishtwar and Rajouri, four in Kashmir and three from other parts of the country,” the official said, adding, one death has been reported due to dengue in the Union Territory.
He further informed that a total of 72 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospitals and of these, 47 have been discharged and 23 patients are undergoing treatment.
