MENDHAR, Sept 1: The people from 15 Panchayats from Mendhar tehsil have refused to go with newly created CD Block Mankote in district Poonch.
A large number of people from the area including Panchs and Sarpanchs held protest in the town here and then submitted a memorandum to the SDM, opposing Government decision to connect about 15 Panchayats with newly created administrative unit- Mankote. The people mostly from Kalaban, Jugal, Bhati Dhar, Chhunga, Sakhi Maidan area lodged their strong protest with the SDM and demanded that they were not interested in going with the Mankote block. They urged upon the Government to review its decision.
