1,500 anganwadi centers in J-K to be converted to creches

JAMMU, Dec 28:
Around 1,500 anganwadi centers in Jammu and Kashmir would be converted into creches with modern facilities for childcare, a senior official of social welfare department said today.
“1,500 anganwadi centers would be converted into creches with all facilities for childcare and their development. The department is going to upgrade infrastructure facilities in existing anganwadi centers to provide more childcare facilities in a phased manner,” Secretary Social Welfare Mohammad Shafi Rather said here.
He said that the Government is in process to make Integrated Child Development Centre more vibrant for providing quality basic education to the children of the State.
“In this regard, the integrated child development department is finalising syllabi under the scheme early childhood care and education services (ECCES),” he said. (AGENCIES)
