1500 apple trucks moving daily out of Valley: Army

Srinagar, Sept 22: Indicating the improvement in ground situation, the Army today said that over 1500 apple trucks move out of Kashmir valley everyday as harvesting season is underway.
The Army’s Northern Command in a tweet posted on micro-blogging website, Twitter, said: “Over 1500 apple trucks move out of Kashmir daily. Facilitating economic progression & confidence among locals (sic).”
After remaining closed for over a month since July 8, the Army facilitated the day movement of vehicular traffic on Srinagar-Jammu Highway by deploying its troops at sensitive spots. The current unrest in Valley started on July 8 when security forces gunned down three militants including top commander Burhan Wani at Kokernag in Anantnag district.
