SRINAGAR : More than 1500 pilgrims left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps for the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himlayas, where about 3.28 lakh yatris have already paid obeisance since the commencement of the 55-day-long pilgrimage from June 28.
The pilgrimage was going on smoothly from both traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal routes, a yatra official said adding this year the number of pilgrims was very less as compared to last year when more than 6.5 lakh pilgrims had had darshan of the cave shrine.
He said 915 pilgrims, including women and sadhus, left Baltal base camp early this morning for the holy cave.
Similarly, 591 yatris also left for the cave shrine from Nunwan Pahalgam base camp, he added.
