JAMMU, July 28: AAP leader and DDC Member of Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has urged upon the Union Government to hold Assembly elections along with Parliamentary elections in J&K.
In a handout the AAP leader expressed concern over the delay in holding elections.
“The Government is delaying elections to encourage more loot hatched by big sharks of bureaucracy in mining, liquor or calling contractors from outside J&K under various pretexts,” Tony claimed.
He further emphasized on the rising unemployment in the region, stating that more than 8 lakh youth in J&K are unemployed yet the government is not taking the issue seriously.
Tony highlighted that the LG has given a clear signal that the Election Commission of India can take a call on holding Assembly elections in J&K.
The AAP leader said that holding Assembly elections along with Parliamentary elections in J&K will not only address the issue of rising unemployment and inflation but will also ensure a fair and democratic representation for the people of the region.
