16 arrested for defying prohibitory orders

JAMMU, Apr 18: Police arrested 16 persons for defying prohibitory orders issued with regard to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As per police sources, during checking at Jhiri, a team from Kanachack Police Station intercepted Innova car bearing registration number JKO2AK-6660.
During checking, police team found four persons including driver identified as Vishal Gupta, son of Romesh Chander of Talab Tillo traveling in the car and violating DM Jammu’s order.
A case under FIR Number 58/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Kanachack during checking at Mishriwala intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02U-6866.
During frisking, police team arrested the driver Narotam Singh, son of Dhara Singh of Bathera for violating DM Jammu’s order.
A case under FIR Number 59/2020 under section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
Both the arrests were made under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar and SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul.
However, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma along with SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shokat in presence of Executive Magistrate during checking on National Highway intercepted a car bearing registration number JK02BK-8000.
During search, Rs 7,70,200 were recovered from the car and the driver identified as Anuj Sharma was arrested.
A case under FIR Number 171/2020 under section 188 IPC and 51 Disaster Management Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
The whole seizure was carried out under the supervision of SP Rural Suram Singh.
In another similar case, around 12 persons were arrested by Gangyal Police for violating probationary orders.
Three cases under relevant sections have been registered against the arrested persons at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
Gandhi Nagar Police also arrested a man for violating DM Jammu orders pertaining to lockdown and registered a case against him.
