UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: Police today rescued 16 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler from Chenani area.
Based on reliable information, a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, laid a surprise naka near Chenani Top on the National Highway and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK13A-2220.
During thorough search, 16 bovine animals were found packed in the truck. Police rescued these animals and seized the truck besides arresting its driver, identified as Adil Husain of Mir Bazar Qazigund.
A case in this connection was registered at Police Station Chenani for further investigation.
