16 bovines rescued, 5 held

SAMBA, May 29: Ghagwal police today rescued 16 bovine animals and arrested five smugglers.
A police spokesman said that, a police party from Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector Anu Kumar Sharma under the supervision of Vijay Pal Singh, DySP (HQ) Samba during naka checking at Jatwal intercepted five vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AP-0805, JK02AW-5753, JK02BC-4135, JK02BB-3087 and JK02AS-5686.
During checking, police rescued 16 bovine animals and arrested five smugglers, who have been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Om Parkash, Vipin Kumar, son of Jagdish Raj, Surjeet Singh, son of Yash Pal, Sunny Kumar, son of Pritam Lal and Sandeep Choudhary, son of Ghara Ram, all residents of RS Pura.
A case under FIR number 33/14 under Section 188 RPC, 2/3 PC Act was registered at police station Ghagwal and investigation started.
