JAMMU, May 30: Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has booked 16 erring traders and realized a fine of Rs 16200 from them on the spot for violating various rules of Essential Commodities Act 1955, LPG Control Order 2000 and Non Display of rate list on their shops.
As per official spokesman, in order to intensify the market checking during the ongoing month of Ramzan, a checking squad headed by Joginder Singh, Assistant Director (Enforcement) FCS&CA Jammu along with team of inspectors Diwan Singh, Yogesh Kumar, Puneet Kumar and Vishwamitra visited the areas of Vinayak Bazaar, Jewel Chowk, Below Gummat, Mohammad Ustad, Ambphalla and New Plot and checked the mutton/chicken sellers, dhabas, fruit sellers and sweet shops.
The team checked around 116 business establishments and booked 16 erring traders. A fine of Rs 16200 was realized from them on the spot for violating various rules of Essential Commodities Act 1955, LPG Control Order 2000 and non display of rate list on their shops.
