16 gamblers arrested with around Rs 30,000 stake money

JAMMU, Oct 29: Bakshi Nagar and Bari Brahmana police arrested 13 gamblers along with around Rs 30,000 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station conducted raid in Shakti Nagar bazaar and busted a gambling den with the arrest of 8 gamblers along with Rs 13,400 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Jaimal Singh of Shakti Nagar, Ashish Kumar, son of Surjit Kumar of Rajpura, Jammu, Sanjeev Kumar, son of Suraj Mal of Rajpura, Anil Kumar, son of Darshan Lal of Shakti Nagar, Vikrant Malhotra, son of Shadi Lal of Shakti Nagar, Vinod Kumar, son of Raj Kumar of Shakti Nagar, Jagdev Singh, son of Balwan Singh of Shiv Nagar, Jammu and Sahil Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Shakti Nagar, Jammu.
The arrested persons were booked under Section 13 Gambling Act by Bakshi Nagar Police and produced before the court of law.
Meanwhile, a team from Bari Brahmana Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia Police conducted raid in Dollian area and arrested five gamblers along with Rs 8,100 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons have been identified as Kuma, son of Chaman Lal of Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana, Raju, son of Mela Ram of Tanda Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana, Bhawani Din, son of Hari of Madhya Pradesh at present Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana, Arvind Yadav, son of Ramesh Yadav of Madhya Pradesh at present Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana and Nuni Lal, son of Ratiyan, of Madhya Pardesh at present Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana.
All the gamblers were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act by Bari Brahmana Police.
In another similar case, a police party of Police Post SIDCO Samba headed by SI Meenu Sharma arrested three gamblers along with stake money of Rs 6,955 and playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as Sanjay Masih, son of Puto Masih of Mandi Bala, Akhnoor, District Jammu, Kaka, son of Kala of Palth District Samba and Vijay Kumar, son of Kashmira of Madhera, District Samba.
All the arrested persons were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act by Samba Police.
